Up and coming New York artist, Jonathan “Jaytoon” Lightbourne, is currently working on his Black Girls Rule exhibit and asked if he could include me. He saw a picture I posted on Instagram and made a caricature version of it. It came out pretty dope!

Jonathan’s earliest memory of sketching takes place in a first grade classroom. He recalls his teachers being shocked that he had drawn a cat so well. He has an eye for anime art and is inspired by comics amongst other things. Jonathan expressed via Instagram, “All my life I’ve been fascinated by fairy tales and wolves. The Little Red Riding Hood was my fave.” If I had to describe his work, I would have to say it’s like the font, “impact”. It’s in your face. Eye catching. And not to mention FUN!
