Yup, that’s right. If you thought you were gonna sit pretty in the pews of Pastor A.J. Aamir’s chuuch with 24 inch Peruvian extensions you’re in for a rude awakening. According to Pastor Aamir, women who wear hair weaves present a false image and are more likely to suffer from low self-esteem than a woman rocking her own natural hair because women only wear weaves to feel pretty. But women do a lot of things to feel pretty like wearing make-up and dressing fashionably. Is it wrong?  The preacher whose congregation’s average age is 22-years-old is also sick and tired of seeing women spend $300 on a weave but still struggling financially. He makes a point. If you put that three hundred in the bank each month you could save a lot of moola and get yourself out of debt quicker. Not judging though. Everyone is free to spend their money how they choose. I love being natural because I can do my hair at home and it will look just as good if I went to a natural hair salon.

Speaking with American Preachers, Aamir explained further:

“Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not IN their heads. I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. Yet, a 26-year-old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. NO. I will not be quiet about this.”

Pastor Aamir knows he can’t ban faux hair from his church but says he will continue to speak out against it because that’s just part of the Lord’s work.

What do y’all think?
